We at BTG have a consolidated outstanding experience in business transfers, including  insurance portfolios transfers, restructuring and liquidation procedures.

We offer assistance to Insurers, financial funds and international brokers in carrying out audits and inspections of service providers and primary insurers’ books of business in relation to claims and reserves in the context of portfolios’ transfers, reinsurance treaties’ renewals or simply periodical reviews of claims bordereaux. In such respect the Firm can offer a rapid and reliable claim’s file review with consequential reconsideration of the posted reserve always in line with the Insurers reserving philosophy and comprehensive reporting and follow up activity in English.

The Milan and London offices are particularly active in the above activities, working with a team of experts and forensic accountants with a remarkable experience in regulatory and tax issues of primary financial institutions, financial intermediaries, insurance companies, asset managers, and investment and pension funds.

On behalf of a Japanese reinsurer the Firm has recently assisted in the audit and inspection of a major third party liability’s claims bordereaux of an Italian primary insurer in the context of an international tender for the renewal of the reinsurance treaty of an Italian public body. Equally the Firm cooperated with a primary international broker in carrying out due diligence of a large motor book in the context of a partial transfer of an active insurance portfolio.
